 In the share market shares are bought and sold . The stock market is the share market ,where shares of a companies other instruments like bonds, mutual fund and derivatives contracts too are treated in the stock market.

 Major stock exchange in india 

  There are two major stock exchanges in india where majority of the trades take place.

1) Bombay stock exchange (BSE)

2) National stock exchange (NSE )

Bombay stock exchange :-

  Do you know about Asia's oldest stock exchange ? If no then you get surprise after getting information about BSE. Bombay stock exchange BSE is the Asia's first as well as the oldest stock exchange in india. It was established in 1875 and it is located in Mumbai. It contains by  5,295 companies .BSE sensex is the flagship index of BSE .

National stock exchange :-

                   NSE  is the  trusted as well as biggest exchange in India where anyone can buy or sell thire share of publicly listed companies. It is established in 1992. NSE has a flagship index named as NIFTY50 .

    In short, The stock Market is the share market, however besides shares of companies, other instruments are traded too.The share market is a source for the companies to raise funds and for the investors to buy part ownership in growing businesses and grow their wealth .
